Dexter Credit Union, Central Falls, R.I., announced the naming of Richard E. Smith as the new president/CEO. Smith has served as senior vice president and chief operating officer at the credit union since 2003. Before joining the credit union, he served for seven years as vice president and senior lending manager with People's Credit Union. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Bryant University in Smithfield, R. I.

PrimeWay Federal Credit Union, Houston, announced three new managers. Linda Figueroa joined as their new floating manager. Figueroa began her credit union career nine years ago as a part-time teller for C-E Federal Credit Union in Houston. David Baldwin joined as the new retail services manager for their Blackhawk branch. With over 35 years of financial experience, Baldwin began his career in California before relocating to Texas in 1986. Crystal Knight was named the new branch manager for the Methodist Hospital location. Knight began to explore a career in the financial industry in 2006 as a manager at Woodforest National Bank. She joined the credit union in 2008 as a business partner specialist and has worked very closely with the ambassadors and employees of the credit union's SEGs.

Volunteer Corporate Credit Union, Nashville, Tenn., announced the appointment of Susan Tant, certified credit union executive, to the supervisory committee for the completion of an unexpired term. Tant has 27 years of experience in the credit union industry. She is CEO of Healthcare Services Credit Union in Chattanooga, Tenn. and has been an active member of Jack Henry's Symitar/Cruise advisory board since 2001.

MIDWEST

Catholic Federal Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., announced that Alicia Reinbolt, branch manager of its Essexville office, graduated from Devos Graduate School at Northwood University with a masters of business administration degree. Reinbolt has been employed at the credit union for 10 years. During that time, she has also worked in the teller, call center and mortgage departments.

First Community Federal Credit Union, Parchment, Mich., announced the promotion of Robert Chase to branch manager for the credit union's North Westnedge branch office. Chase is a graduate from the University of Colorado at Denver earning a bachelors of science in accounting and finance. Prior to accepting this position, he was the assistant branch manager for the Plainwell branch office and has been employee with the credit union for over two years.

WEST

Numerica Credit Union, Spokane Valley, Wash., announced the hiring of Margot Petersen as the new branch manager for its Sullivan branch. Petersen has over 15 years of professional experience in insurance and financial service and most recently worked as an independent consultant in the credit union industry. She earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University.

Xceed Financial Federal Credit Union, El Segundo, Calif., announced that Erik Rhodes, an LPL financial adviser with seven years of experience, has joined its team of consultants. As part of the team Rhodes will be responsible for providing an array of financial products and services.

VENDOR

NewOak Capital, New York, announced the appointment of Jay Lown as managing director and senior member of the financial institutions group. Prior to joining NewOak, Lown was a fellow at the Office of Thrift Supervision. At OTS he served as an adviser to the senior deputy director's office focused on mortgage origination and securitization. He began his career at Salomon Brothers, where he spent 11 years working on the mortgage trading desk, the last six years in the mortgage finance group covering subprime mortgage companies.

First Data Corporation, Atlanta, announced that Kevin Barry joined as general manager of the STAR Network. Also, Peter J. Korpady joined as senior vice president, national sales and relationship management. Barry comes to First Data with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Korpady has 25 years in the financial services industry.
