Palmetto Cooperative Services LLC is now offering image return document printing solutions in response to the continued consolidation of Federal Reserve Bank services.

The South Carolina CUSO said it is reselling the IRD Express Pack printing solution from Rosetta Technologies of Tampa, Fla.

"Partnering with an experienced MICR hardware provider such as Rosetta has improved our ability to reach the market quickly. In the short time this service has been available we've had a tremendous response from our credit union customers," said Mark Curran, senior vice president of business development for PCS in Irmo, S.C.

The package includes a MICR printer, paper and toner and allows a credit union to quickly begin printing IRDs from printable PCL files, the CUSO said.

PCS said it launched the service because of the Fed's exit from the IRD printing business and consolidation to a single site in Cleveland. Using the IRD package and PCS' image return service can allow credit unions to reduce return processing time from more than 72 hours to less than a day in many cases, the CUSO said.

PCS said it now provides Check 21 and other operational support services to more than 400 credit unions and is owned by 26 credit unions and the South Carolina Service Corp.
