As its former CEO, Gordon Dames took Mountain America Credit Union from a cooperative grappling with a $560,000 loss when he took the helm in 1991 to a $2.5 billion financial institution.

Dames led the Salt Lake City-based CU for 18 years before retiring a few years ago. It was there that Dames was involved in the launch of Member Business Lending LLC, one of the industry's most recognized CUSOs that has consistently placed in the top 10 list of SBA lenders among both CUs and banks.

Prior to joining Mountain America, Dames served as president/CEO of San Diego Credit Union from 1983 to 1991. His career also includes a principal examiner post at NCUA, a position he served in for 12 years.
