Vermont Federal Credit Union, Middlebury, Vt., announced that Stepheni Newton has joined the credit union as branch manager of the Middlebury and Vergennes locations.

Hudson River Community Credit Union, Glens Falls, N.Y., announced the hiring of several new employees. Randi Norton, Peggy Norton, Brittany Viehmann and Sarah Dashnaw joined as member service representatives. Fallon Beckwith joined as a financial service representative. Debbie Mumblo is the teller supervisor. In the credit union's Glen Falls office, Erica Sechler, joined as a member service representative and Christine Somers was hired as the new marketing specialist. The credit union also announced the promotions of Jason LaPierre to human resources representative and Mary Alheim to assistant head teller.
Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., announced the promotion of Bill Newman to executive vice president. He succeeds longtime Executive Vice President Edward Murphy, who has been with credit union for 25 years. Newman joined the credit union management team in 1999 and most recently served as the chief operations officer. Prior to that, he was the credit union's chief information officer.

Member One Federal Credit Union, Roanoke, Va., announced that Scott Crawford has joined the organization and will serve as vice president of business development and member education. Crawford most recently served as director of education at the Taubman Museum of Art. His educational background includes a master of arts degree from Old Dominion University and a bachelor of science degree from Radford University.
UT Federal Credit Union, Knoxville, Tenn., announced the promotion of two employees. Malinda Wood, a two-year credit union employee, was promoted to vice president of marketing. Teri Branam, with 12 years at the credit union, was promoted to business development manager.
WEST
Credit Union of Colorado, Denver, named Tim Welch manager of its new Parker branch office. Welch has 17 years of experience in the credit union industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Metro State University and is currently working on his MBA degree at the University of Phoenix.
Lacamas Community Credit Union, Camas, Wash., announced the hiring of Mark Sadowski as chief financial officer. Sadowski has 23 years of credit union experience, including 22 years at a major credit union in Seattle. He has held positions including branch manager, assistant vice president of information systems, vice president of marketing and chief financial officer.
SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif., announced the promotion of Erin Mendez to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Mendez joined the credit union in 2003 and most recently held the position of senior vice president of finance and information services. Prior to the credit union, she held positions at Health Net, Western Financial Bank and American Savings Bank. She has over 25 years of financial services experience.

Filene Research Institute, Madison, Wis., announced the election of Patricia Smith, president/CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union in Portland, Ore., as its sixth chair. Smith replaces outgoing chair Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, CEO of Travis Credit Union in Vacaville, Calif., who completed a three-year term as chair and will remain on the board as a director.
Western CUNA Management School, Ontario, Calif., announced the newest members of its board of trustees. The new members are Credit Union Association of Colorado President/CEO John Dill, Xceed Financial Credit Union CEO Teresa Freeborn, Horizons North Credit Union CEO Bradley H. Harvey and Redwood Credit Union CEO Brett Martinez.
Florida Concepts, Inc., Clearwater, Fla., announced that John Powell has joined their team as senior vice president. He will be responsible for client development in Alabama, Northwest Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Powell comes to the company with 15 years of experience assisting financial institutions with their facility needs. He has held numerous positions within the financial industry including positions as branch manager, marketing director, and community bank president.
