Due to another batch of snow, which caused blizzard-like conditions and following last weekend's record-setting storm in the Washington area, the capital region's offices of federal government-including the NCUA-are closed again today.

Because they follow the federal government's lead, the Washington office of CUNA and NAFCU's offices are also closed today.

However, officials of all three organizations noted that many of their employees are telecommuting and all have sent out news releases this week, despite being officially closed.

The storm also kept both the House and Senate from holding votes today, though lawmakers used the weather to make political points.

"This storm can try as it might, but a few feet of snow have got nothing on Senate Republicans' ability to paralyze Washington with their blizzard of filibusters and procedural gimmicks," Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told The Wall Street Journal.
