TMG, a financial services CUSO owned by the Iowa Credit Union League, gave its prepaid cards packaging for the holidays that included disclosures about the card's fee structure and schedule.

According to the CUSO, the packaging for its cards, which is offers under the ATIRA brand "not only houses the gift card; it includes terms and fee information to help both buyers and recipients fully understand the ATIRAgift product," the CUSO said.

The CUSO announced that five more credit unions in Iowa have signed on to start offering the ATIRA cards to members.

"The impact of the CARD Act on the prepaid world is yet to be completely determined," said TMG's Jeff Falk, TMG director of product development. "But one area we already know has been impacted is consumer demand for information. They want a clear-cut explanation of the rules and fees associated with their cards, and by packaging that information with the card, we hope to help our clients deliver just that."
