FIS has released a new bill pay interface for Metavante users that provides tools aimed at easing “new user” apprehension and increasing usage. The new interface uses task-oriented, configurable modules that answer consumer questions at the landing page, along with a product tour and setup assistant, the company said. Other features include a “bill rack” that organizes bills based on due dates, expedited payment functions and a balance worksheet that shows current and pending payments to help avoid overdrafts, the company said. The redesign followed extensive research and usability testing, the company said. “Helping banks and credit unions increase bill pay adoption is directly related to the product’s ability to solve consumers’ bill pay predicaments. Above all, consumers have told FIS they need answers to two vital questions upon logging in: ‘What bills do I need to pay?’ and ‘Will this payment overdraft my account’,” said Frank D’Angelo, executive vice president of the FIS Payment Solutions Group. The new interface is being offered initially to users of the Metavante Bill Payment Manager platform with future plans for a company-wide rollout, FIS said. Jacksonville, Fla.-based FIS completed its acquisition of Metavante in October and said it now provides services to more than 14,000 financial institutions and businesses in over 100 countries. –[email protected]
