Some California high school and college students are among the first users of Fiserv Inc.'s new mobile offering.
They're among the 36,000 members of $371 million Merced School Employees Federal Credit Union, a longtime Fiserv customer the company said is among the first adopters of its Mobile Money solution.
Mobile Money offers balances, transfers, bill pay and alerts through text messaging or mobile browser on any mobile device. An iPhone application also is being planned, the company said.

MSEFCU said it launched the mobile service with an eye toward attracting and keeping younger members, including students at the University of California, Merced and Merced College and high school students in Merced and Mariposa counties, but said it found that adoption has been more widespread among its member segments since the November launch.
