Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced thepromotion of Dona Svehla to senior vice president of lossprevention. In this position, she will be responsible for directingthe collections, loss prevention, credit and quality control, alongwith the records and titles departments. Svehla joined the creditunion in 2007 as vice president of loss prevention.

Keys Federal Credit Union, Key West, Fla., announced that MaryAnn Martin has been promoted to assistant branch manager at itsMarathon Shores office. Martin joined the credit union as a tellerand was promoted to teller/member service representative in 2008.She has over 30 years of customer service and management experiencewith Napa Auto Parts in Miami. The credit union also announced thatLaura Washington, Peary Court branch manager, has been with thecredit union for 10 years. Washington started at the credit unionin 1999 as a high school intern. After she completed high school,she was hired as teller and moved quickly through the ranks. Duringher 10 years with the credit union Washington has held variousmember service positions, including member service representativeand assistant branch manager. In 2005, she was promoted to branchmanager.
Kennedy Space Center Federal Credit Union, Merritt Island, Fla.,announced that its board of directors appointed Maureen Lowe aspresident/CEO. Following the departure of Janice Hollar, Lowe wasnamed acting president/CEO and was confirmed to the position at themeeting of the board. She came to the credit union in 1981 andbegan as a teller. Lowe attended college while working at thecredit union and obtained a bachelor's degree in accounting fromFlorida Southern University.

Card Services for Credit Unions, Clearwater, Fla., announced theappointment of Andrea Moore to communications manager. Prior tojoining the credit union, Moore was a public relations andmarketing manager in the nonprofit sector. Her educationalbackground includes a bachelor's degree in public relations and amaster's degree in business management from the University ofFlorida.

El Paso Employees Federal Credit Union, El Paso, Texas,announced the promotion of Michael Garcia to manager of itsUniversity branch. Garcia brings several years experience inoperations and lending and is presently pursuing a degree inbusiness administration at the University of Phoenix.

Smart Financial Credit Union, Houston, announced promotionswithin its management team. Benny Castro was promoted to directorof security. Matt Oltremari was promoted to director of marketing.Glenda Gatlin and Rodney Jackson were both promoted to assistantvice president of business development.

Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced thatdirector JoAnn Jacob Krantz received the designation of certifiedcredit union volunteer from the CUNA Volunteer CertificationProgram. The program provides a convenient, practical way to becomecertified in the areas of credit union governance, safety andsoundness, CEO oversight, strategic planning, board operations anddevelopment. In order to keep the certification active volunteershave continuing educational requirements that must be met.

Hebrings nine years of senior management and supervisory experience,12 years of credit union experience and 14 years of lendingauthority. Morris also has seven years of collections and lossrecovery experience, and seven years of operations experience.

Numerica Credit Union, Spokane, Wash., announced the hiring ofChristina Burns as a business banking officer. Burns has 20 yearsof experience in the financial industry. Her experience includesmanagement and executive levels of business development, personalbanking and commercial lending.

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif., announcedthat Robert Martinez has been promoted to vice president ofcollections. Martinez has been with SchoolsFirst since 1992 and hasheld the positions, director of telephone service center, directorof consumer loans, assistant manager of consumer loans and branchsupervisor.
