Joined by a coalition of vendors, the New Jersey Credit Union League said Tuesday it is hosting "Credit Union Reality Check 2010," a special conference next March that puts the emphasis on audience interaction and electronic polling.
The March 22-24 conference to be held at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City includes what the league describes as tweaks to the seminar format including use of hand-held remote devices, used to create greater audience participation and feedback.
"In addition, to keep the conversation focused on the hot button issues, there are no breakouts but only general sessions during the conference," said Candice Nigro, director of marketing/communications.
Among topics on the agenda for "Reality Check 2010" are liquidity/investment performance, retail product development, board governance and industry viability.
Among speakers at the conference are Robert Hoel, fellow at the Filene Research Institute, Herb Yolles, NCUA Region II associate regional director-operations; Stan Hollen, CEO of CO-OP Financial Services and Sarah Cooke, editor-in-chief, Credit Union Times.
In addition to the league and CO-OP Financial, the vendor sponsors include Alpha Omega Inc., the CU advisory unit of UBS, CUMAnet, a New Jersey CUSO, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
