The credit union quest to develop a high-class service culture takes a new turn next year by examining the model of one big successful hotel chain, all of it coming at a special CEO Summit Jan. 17-20 at Key Biscayne.
"In our view the Ritz-Carlton model for service is top-of-the-line and those in credit union leadership positions have something to learn from them," said a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association in detailing plans for the CEO Summit being put together by six mid-Atlantic leagues.
The four-day meeting is being held at, where else, a Ritz-Carlton property, on Key Biscayne, Fla.

Under the training deal "and to get this kind of skilled expertise from their staff," the CU group had little choice but to sign up for the site, said the spokesman. Also on the program which focuses on CU strategies for 2010 will be Chip Filson, president of Callahan & Associates.
Joining in Summit sponsorship are the Delaware Credit Union League, Maryland/DC Credit Union Association, New York Credit Union Association, New Jersey Credit Union League and the West Virginia Credit Union League.
The key speaker from Ritz Carlton will be Jeff Hargett, director of learning and content development.
