Park Community Federal Credit Union in Louisville, Ky., is now protecting its servers – and the data within – with a new disaster recovery solution from Double-Take Software of Southborough, Mass. The Double-Take Availability software continuously captures changes as they happen and replicates those changes in real-time to another server, physical or virtual, at any location, locally or globally, the company said. Park Community required a solution that was efficient enough to protect a massive amount of data using the organization's existing WAN infrastructure. Double-Take Availability allowed Park Community to replicate data on more than 30 virtual servers, including one that houses more than 20 million files totaling a terabyte of business-critical data. "We originally intended to protect only five or six highly critical servers," said Eric Hubbard, network engineer at $468 million Park Community FCU. "However, because Double-Take Availability is affordable and didn't require additional bandwidth, we were able to implement this disaster recovery solution across our entire server environment all within budget." The company said its software is now in use by more than 19,000 customers worldwide. –[email protected]
