Federal Credit Union executives who want to estimate the fees their institution will have to pay the NCUA to help fund its operations can use NAFCU's online calculator.

The fees, calculated on the basis of a credit union's assets as of Dec. 31, 2009, will be based on asset growth rate of 8.5%. Last week, the NCUA reduced its operating fee rates 1.58% but increased the overhead transfer rate to 57.2%.

The NCUA is scheduled to invoice federal credit unions next March and the payments will be due by April 15.
