American Eagle Federal Credit Union has wrapped up its Bank Smart, Drive Smart campaign by giving lucky longtime member Linda Klemba the keys to her new 2009 Smartfortwo Passion Coupe. Klemba was selected randomly from over 2,200 official entries during the credit union's summer membership promotion held July through September this year. Proving membership has its rewards, Klemba became eligible for the grand prize drawing by referring her daughter to open an American Eagle FCU account. "We had been saving money for my daughter Brandy. When she turned 18 this summer, we decided to set her up with her own credit union account. I brought her to the Cromwell branch where she opened a checking and savings account," said Klemba. With two children heading off to college next year, she says she knows that their new Smart Car will be put to good use. In the meantime, husband Joseph will drive the Smart Car, as the 40 miles per gallon will help with his daily commute from Middletown to East Hartford, Connecticut. American Eagle FCU has over $1.5 billion in assets and is based in East Hartford, Conn.
