CUNA has nominated Metro Credit Union President/CEO Robert Cashman and US Federal Credit Union Credit Union William Raker to the Federal Reserve Board's Thrift Institution Advisory Council.

Cashman has worked at METRO CU, based in Chelsea, Mass., for 26 years and is on CUNA's Board of Directors. Raker has been involved in the credit union system for more than 30 years and in his current position at the Burnsville, Minn.-based credit union for 12 years. He is on the board of the Minnesota Credit Union Network and is the former chairman of CUNA's Governmental Affairs Committee.

The council is a 12-member panel which meets with the Federal Reserve Board to provide advice on issues of importance to credit unions, mutual savings banks and savings and loan institution. Its members are appointed by the board and meet three times a year. Council members serve two-year terms.
