Charter Oak Credit Union, Groton, Conn.,announced that staff members participated in the second annual walkfor the homeless. The walk was organized by CT College students andthe New London Homeless Hospitality Center and sponsored by CharterOak Federal Credit Union's Community Giving program. Over 100people participated in the three-mile walk.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla.,supported the Emerald Cost Honor Flight. Approximately 100 WorldWar II veterans traveled to Washington to visit the war memorial.Pen Air Federal Credit Union President/CEO Ron Fields assisted theveterans during the trip. Fields escorted veteran Jim Brown, whoserved under General Patton in the invasion of Normandy. Since theEmerald Coast Honor Flight Program was created, Pen Air hascontributed over $20,000 to help send veterans on the trip.

San Francisco Federal Credit Union, SanFrancisco, formed a team to participate in the National Brain TumorSociety's 15th annual Bay Area brain tumor walk. The teamparticipated in the event and held bake sales at the main creditunion branch to raise funds. President/CEO Steven Stapp led theteam on the 5K walk. Proceeds from the walk support research andpatient programs at the National Brain Tumor Society.
