Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, opened its newest branch in West Jordan and celebrated with a grand opening. The new branch is the fourth West Jordan location for the credit union. Mountain America celebrated with a grand opening barbeque for members and residents. The branch manager and staff were on hand to open new accounts and answer questions.
Lacamas Community Credit Union, Camas, Wash., opened a new branch in Stevenson. The credit union held a ribbon cutting ceremony that was attended by more than 75 people, including local dignitaries, elected officials, business people, Lacamas Community executives and board members.
State Employees' Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., purchased land for a new branch building at the Lowe's Grove Rural Credit Union site in Durham, N.C. SECU chose the branch location because of its history and significance to the credit union movement. Lowe's Grove Rural Credit Union was the first rural credit union in the South and it opened for business on Jan. 20, 1916.
South Jersey Federal Credit Union, Moorestown, N.J., held a grand opening ceremony for its newest full service branch. The branch is South Jersey FCUs sixth branch office and its first branch in Burlington County. The design of the branch eliminates the traditional teller wall and instead has service pods to facilitate open communication between members and service representatives. The branch also features a mortgage center, investment center and multimedia information screens.

Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union, New Britain Township, Pa., celebrated the opening of its first LEED certified green building in Harleysville, Pa. CEO David Whitehead and Chairman W. Andrew McPherson along with Lower Salford Township officials and a field representative for Congresswoman Alyson Schwartz participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony. All the paper products used the event were green products and the food served was local and organic.
SEFCU, Albany, N.Y., celebrated the grand opening of its 25th capital region branch. In addition to SEFCU staff, Mayor James Gaughan and Town Supervisor Ken Runion were at the ribbon cutting as well as representatives from Zandri Construction and Guerra Associates. The new branch has a full-service teller and platform area.
