To help remember the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy, the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association will continue with a statewide effort today to provide free legal and financial help to those struggling in the economic downturn.

Pennsylvania First Lady Judge Majorie Rendell has announced a final session of "Get Help Now, Pennsylvania," a volunteer initiative launched in July that connects Pennsylvanians facing economic challenges with assistance from local professionals. Since then, volunteers have worked every Tuesday and Thursday at 19 locations across the state to provide free assistance and referrals to hundreds of consumers.

Rendell, the wife of Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell, said free services will be offered at a final session today in Pittsburgh from noon to 4 p.m.

Get Help Now is a collaborative effort of the Pennsylvania Credit Union

Association, Pennsylvania Bankers Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking, United Way, Americorps VISTA and several other groups.
