Because there weren't enough members at the meeting, the Senate Banking Committee last Tuesday did not vote on the nomination of Deborah Matz as chairman of the NCUA.
The panel will likely hold a special meeting off of the Senate floor to vote on the nomination, which is expected to be approved. If the committee supports her nomination, it would proceed to the full Senate, which could take action before it goes into recess on Aug. 7.
During Matz's July 22 confirmation hearing, the two senators in attendance praised her qualifications and said they looked forward to working with her.

Matz, who was nominated by President Obama, would be returning to the NCUA Board on which she served from 2002-2005.
