Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union said it plans to add the personal finance management suite from Jwaala LLC to its online presence by the end of 2009.
The Jwaala MoneyTracker PFM provides members a holistic, actionable view of their finances and includes tools for building dashboards, managing budgets, creating their own alerts and update settings and a virtual safety deposit box.
Jwaala-a CUSO of Amplify FCU in Austin, Texas-also provides its source code to clients, empowering a community of developers to spring up around the solution.
"Not only do we benefit from the advanced PFM capability inherent in MoneyTracker, but also by collaborating with Jwaala at the source code level, we have the ability to enhance and extend the solution to satisfy our unique needs," said Stu Fisher, senior vice president of e-commerce at $2.3 billion Addison Avenue FCU in Palo Alto, Calif.
About 70,000 of the credit union's 150,000 members are online bankers and less than 30% of its members use its more than 20 branches in 10 states.
Jack Henry Signs 33 New Symitar Users
Symitar has added 33 new credit union users of its core processing platforms in the past 12 months, according to its owner, Jack Henry & Associates Inc.
"More than 700 credit unions now use the Symitar division's Episys or Cruise systems. Fifteen of the new users will run their systems in-house, while the rest will be service bureau users," according to Missouri-based Jack Henry & Associates.
The three credit unions cited in the Symitar announcement, and their previous core processor according to their 5300 Call Reports at the NCUA, were the $201 million Meridian Trust FCU of Cheyenne, Wyo. (Open Solutions Inc.), the $165 million Olean Area FCU of Olean, N.Y. (Fiserv AFTECH), and the $3.6 million Brookland FCU of West Columbia, S.C. (EPL Inc.)
Kathy Hooker Burress, president of Symitar, said, "It is extremely rewarding that even with the inherent impact of the down economy, Symitar has outperformed itself in new-client footprints compared to the previous 12-month period, and we continue to increase our market share by replacing competitive systems."

Fiserv Inc. said it has signed five new users of its credit union core processing platforms, including the Texas credit union that holds the first federal credit union charter.

The other signees include the $101 million Seasons FCU of Middletown, Conn., which will be deploying the Portico platform. It currently is running on Symitar's Episys solution, according to its 5300 call report.
Also converting to the Portico solution are the $62 million Ashtabula County School Employees CU in Ohio, currently an R.C. Olmstead client, and the $42 million United Police FCU in Miami, currently an Open Solutions client.
The fifth signee is the $51 million Eastern New York in Napanoch, which is converting to the Galaxy system, Fiserv said. It currently is a Computer Marketing Corp. client, according to its 5300 call report.
Along with core processing, the credit unions are adopting a variety of other Fiserv solutions, including card services, online banking, accounting tools and interactive voice response, the company said.
