Sixty Wisconsin credit unions representing 2,500 employees have now signed up a free online financial education program through the Wisconsin Credit Union League.
The literacy education venture, set up under the REAL Solutions umbrella, is aimed at enhancing investment and counseling skills of CU employees to guide members on a variety of products and services including tax assistance, 401(k)s, college loans and others.
With the help of a $200,000 grant from a Madison nonprofit, Investor Protection Trust, the league said it hopes "to reach out to 4,000 credit union employees in Wisconsin to complete 10 hours of online education."
