Due to the absence of a quorum, the Senate Banking Committee today did not vote on the nomination of Deborah Matz as chairman of the NCUA.
The panel will probably hold a special meeting later this week off of the Senate floor to vote on her nomination, which is expected to be approved.
If the committee approves her nomination it would be considered by the full Senate. That chamber is scheduled to start its summer recess on Aug. 7 and could vote before leaving town.

Matz, who was nominated in May by President Obama, would be returning to the board on which she served from 2002-2005.
