Wisconsin is getting its first LEED-certified credit union headquarters building courtesy of CitizensFirst Credit Union.
The credit union has recently broken ground on its new 'green' 30,000-square-foot corporate office.
Mandatory recycling will take place during construction of the building and 75% of construction waste will be diverted from landfills. The new facility will also include bicycle racks and parking for low-emission and fuel-efficient vehicles to encourage alternative forms of transportation that are more environmentally friendly. Construction is slated to be completed by 2010.
