Connex Credit Union, North Haven, Conn., has been recognized by the Connecticut Credit Union Association as the No. 1 credit union in the state of Connecticut for its participation in raising money for the Adopt-A-Bear program. Members donated $5 to adopt a bear, with 375 bears purchased. A total of $1,875 was donated to the program.

Redwood Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., has been honored with the best practices award from the Sonoma County Business Environmental Alliance. Programs include: a recycling plan and green educational information that can be found on the credit unions Web site. Ledge Light Federal Credit Union, Groton, Conn., received the award of merit from the CUNA marketing and business development council in the "Diamond in the Rough" category. The credit union demonstrated excellent results and originality with a restricted budget for its "Stock Market Got You Stuck This Winter?" campaign.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Bethpage, N.Y., announced Linda Armyn, the vice president of corporate development and governmental affairs, as the recipient of the first Lee E. Koppelman Community Leadership award. Armyn was recognized for her efforts on behalf of Long Island, its institutions, causes and communities. The award was presented by the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
