Founders Federal Credit Union, Lancaster, S.C., sponsored the McDonald Green Elementary School's PTO meeting. Hot dogs were sold for donations, which went directly to the McDonald PTO to help fund projects.Gateway Metro Credit Union, St. Louis, sent a record number of walkers and contributed a record amount of money to the Light the Night Charity Walk. The walk was held at Forest Park to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. More than 90 walkers participated raising more than $1,700 for the cause.Corporate America Family Credit Union, Elgin, Ill., hosted a shred day, offering the community an opportunity to shred up to three boxes of discarded personal documents. The shredding was free, and all who attended were also given the chance to learn how to guard against identity theft.Wauna Federal Credit Union, Clatskanie, Ore., sponsored an award winning multimedia seminar. The event, titled "But What If I Live? The American Retirement Crisis," was held at the Seafood Center in Astoria. The presentation received positive compliments from all in attendance.

Woodstone Credit Union, Federal Way, Wash., welcomed residents to clean house and protect their identity by participating in a free shred day. The credit union provided a professional shredding service for residents in the community who wished to find a secure and efficient way to dispose of documents containing sensitive information.Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., became the only sponsor of the Civic Engagement Team of City Year New Hampshire. A member of the nonprofit AmeriCorps network, City Year New Hampshire attempts to assist communities through citizen service, civic engagement, leadership development and social entrepreneurship.

Atlanta Postal Credit Union, Atlanta, participated with hundreds of metro area companies and several hundred individual participants in the Kaiser Permanente Corp. Run/Walk. The event was designed to promote health, wellness and fitness among Atlanta companies and their employees. Proceeds raised from this annual event benefit the Atlanta Braves Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlanta.MidSouth Federal Credit Union, Macon, Ga., sponsored a retiree reception at Vineville United Methodist Church. The event was to honor newly retired educators. A representative of the credit union presented a donation to the Bibb Retired Educators Association.
