James Tedisco, a Republican who was backed by CUNA and the Credit Union Association of New York in a special election to the U.S. House, conceded defeat on Friday, almost a month after the election.
Tedisco, the GOP leader in the New York Assembly, received $5,000 from CUNA's political action committee, the Credit Union Legislative Action Council.
He lost to political newcomer Scott Murphy for the right to represent New York's 20th District. The vacancy was created when former U.S. Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) resigned after being named to fill the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
