Energy Federal Credit Union, Rockville, Md., announced the retirement of Raymond Holt Jr. from the board of directors after 24 years of service. Throughout his tenure with the credit union, Holt served on numerous committees, including the nominating committee, member services committee, investment committee and the pension committee.

SOUTH

Brightstar Credit Union, Sunrise, Fla., named James F. Notter to its board of directors. Notter, a well known educator and administrator is the superintendent of Broward County Public Schools, the nation's sixth largest public school system. Notter has been in education for over 36 years, including 10 years as a classroom teacher and 26 years in administrative roles.

Shell Federal Credit Union, Houston, Texas, named Sonia Castillo its new vice president of human resources. Castillo has over 17 years of credit union experience.

San Antonio Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced that Wendi Lozada- Smith has joined the credit union's information technology team as an information security officer. She brings more than a decade of experience in financial institutions and information security to the credit union. The credit union also announced the appointment of Blaise C. Bender, to serve as a member of the supervisory committee. Paul R. Ellis joined the collections team as vice president and collections manager. He brings 30 years of experience in the financial industry with him to the position.

SAFE Federal Credit Union, Sumter, S.C., announced that employee Joye Cox has been named to the NAFCU quarter-century honor roll. Cox has been with the credit union since 1984 when she was hired as marketing director. She is now vice president of marketing, which entails oversight of the advertising, public relations, business development, research and financial counseling areas.

Langley Federal Credit Union, Newport News, Va., honored Jack Frost, a board member from 1980 to 2008, by bestowing upon him the title of director emeritus. Frost served on the board for 28 years, and he held positions as wide ranging as chairman to assistant secretary.

MIDWEST

NuUnion Credit Union, Lansing, Mich., promoted Jennifer Kurzynowski to chief information officer. She will oversee the development and operations of all information technology. Kurzynowski was most recently vice president of e-commerce for the credit union, where she has been for 19 years.

Wanigas Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., elected their board of directors and credit committee for 2009 at their annual meeting. The board of directors consists of: Gerald Little, chairperson; Larry Gosen, vice chairperson; Oscar Gonzales, treasurer; Michael Balls, secretary; Valorie Green, director; Steve Jurik, director; and Sheldon Matthews, director. The credit committee consists of: Lynette Scott, Claude Tanner, Mike Malmo, Anthony McDonald, Robert Henley and Lisa Ramirez.

Columbia Credit Union, Vancouver, Wash., announced that Robert Stewart was hired as a registered representative with Financial Network located at Columbia Credit Union's wealth management department. Stewart will work with members and businesses to assist them in achieving their financial goals. Stewart has more than seven years of experience in the industry.

North Island Credit Union, San Diego, Calif., announced that North Island Credit Union Vice President and Branch Manager Kirk Gentry has been named “El Cajon 2008 Citizen of the Year.” The honor was bestowed upon Gentry by the Rotary Club of El Cajon and the El Cajon Valley Host Lions Club.

Otero Federal Credit Union, Alamogordo, N.M., announced that it's new assistant vice president/branch manager at the South Main location in Roswell will be Kim Purcell.
