MidSouth Federal Credit Union, Macon, Ga., presented a check to Education First that was dedicated toward sponsoring the Bibb County teachers of the year banquet. The event was held at the Macon Centreplex last October.
New Hampshire Credit Union, Manchester, N.H., hosted the credit unions inaugural make-a-wish night at the New Hampshire Cats vs. Connecticut Defenders baseball game. The initiative raised more than $1,600 as 400 of the credit union's employees, friends and family members attended the game.

Digital Federal Credit Union, Marlborough, Mass., employees volunteered at the 3rd Annual MetroWest Boys and Girls Club kids day in Framingham. The DCU contribution of $35,000 earlier this year helped sponsor the day as well as several other upcoming initiatives for the 3,200 boys and girls enrolled in the club's after school programs.

Champion Credit Union, Canton
, N.C., developed a special program for residents of Haywood, Buncombe and Henderson counties. The champions senior rewards program is designed to reward senior citizens, who are age 60 or better, with a number of benefits, including special rates on certificate accounts and discounts on medicines purchased at the Canton-based Martin's Drug Store.

SEFCU
, Albany, N.Y., hosted the community volunteer expo at the SEFCU Arena on the University at Albany campus. The free event provided an afternoon of family fun in addition to giving attendees a chance to meet over 70 local nonprofit groups that are seeking volunteers.

Kitsap Credit Union, Bremerton, Wash., helped recognize unsung heroes in its community with the healthy tomorrow award. Their contributions significantly improved the quality of life and aid the local community in achieving a vibrant, healthy future. Winners were selected by committee of Kitsap Credit Union and Kitsap Sun executives.

Pacific Service Credit Union, Vacaville, Calif., hosted its child safety day. The one-day event was intended to raise awareness and educate families on child safety and protection.

Louviers Federal Credit Union, Newark, Del., showed its dedication to the City of Wilmington by sponsoring and participation in the annual day for kids at the 14th Wilmington Riverfest. The event was a fundraising opportunity for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware and benefits the 32,000 children the clubs serve throughout the state.

Piedmont Aviation Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., assisted the 2008 United Way days of caring project with a cancer services "Just the Essentials" supply drive. The credit union recognized that its efforts to support the United Way days of caring would make a difference in its members' lives.

TruMark Financial Credit Union, Trevose, Pa., employees volunteered as a team to assist in the "Walk Now for Autism" event in Philadelphia. In total, the credit union's employees logged 165 volunteer hours for the event that attracted over 12,000 participants and raised $810,000 for the organization.

Hawthorne Credit Union
, Naperville, Ill., hosted shred it day in conjunction with its annual operation support our troops Illinois project. The undertaking delivered care packages to U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
