Robbins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., members and employees raised $21,350 for the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee and Credit Union Political Action Committee by way of its deduct-a-buck and CUPAC raffle fundraisers. The program was held last summer. The deduct-a-buck fundraiser raised a total of $16,044 and the CUPAC raffle added another $5, 306 to the overall total.Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union, Metairie, La., employees hosted its first Go Red for Women event to support the American Heart Association. Employee contributions totaling $120 were donated to help fund scientific research in the field. The campaign was designed to raise awareness about women's heart disease.

GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner, Mass., donated $10,000 to the Greater Gardner Community Development Corp. The donation was made in support of the CDC's homeownership development opportunity that will be built in Templeton by instructors and students from Monty Tech.

Grant County Credit Union Chapter, Marion, Ind., acknowledged that children develop most of their capacity to learn during the first few years of life and that reading is the key to knowledge. Credit union leaders from allover Grant County joined together to support Dolly Parton's "Imagination Library" program raising $1,000 for the cause.
Northeast Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., signed onto the USS New Hampshire commissioning effort, making a $5,000 gold level sponsorship donation. Peter Kavalauskas, Northeast's president/CEO, said the credit union joins Portsmouth Naval Shipyard community neighbors in saluting the officers, crew and families.

American Heritage Federal Credit Union, Philadelphia, raised more than $25,000 to benefit the Kids-N-Hope Foundation via its 13th annual golf classic held at PineCrest Country Club in Lansdale. More than 100 golfers took to the links early last October to raise money for the foundation, which supports the music therapy program at the Children's Seashore House of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Atlanta Postal Credit Union, Atlanta, raised $30,000 to help support the Children's Miracle Network. For the past eight years the credit union has participated in fundraising activates to assist CMN in its endeavor. The Children's Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America.TruMark Financial Credit Union, Trevose, Pa., employees wore jeans, on a designated Friday last October, raising $595 to support the American Lung Association.
Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Phoenix, committed $283,530 in support of its local United Way charities. The amount is the most ever in a single
year for a $3 billion credit union. The financial institution was recently ranked
by the Children's Miracle Network as the top credit union in the nation for
charitable giving.

Credit Union Association of New Mexico, Albuquerque, N.M., presented the Children's Miracle Network with a check for $50,000, the proceeds raised from the association's annual fundraising Silver Star Gala and Golf Classic. New Mexico credit unions' are working to raise $1 million in five years for the construction and equipment for the University of New Mexico Hospital's new pediatric emergency unit. To date, more than $755,000 has been raised.

United Educational Credit Union, Battle Creek, Mich., named North Pennfield Elementary School as a recipient of a Bright Ideas Partnership Grant in the amount of $700 to support "Abe, Deserts and Kookaburras: A Nonfiction Library." Marcie Crull, a third-grade teacher at the elementary school, applied for the grant to bring a comprehensive nonfiction library to her class.
