Yost Retires from Diamond CU Board

Diamond Credit Union Board Chairman Herbert Yost announced his retirement from the board.
Yost joined the volunteer board 26 years ago and served as chairman of the board for the past 16 years.
"I am in high spirits as I reflect on the history of this remarkable institution. I feel confident in Diamond's future, and know that I am leaving Diamond in a position in strength where it will continue to be guided by an experienced board of directors, talented senior management team, and dedicated staff," Yost said.
Twenty-six years ago, when Yost joined the board the Pottstown, Pa., credit union had 5,203 members and $10 million in assets. Now the credit union has over 37,800 members and over $348 in assets.
"Herb played a huge role in Diamond's growth and development and his philosophy about putting members first will remain a strong part of his legacy," said John Faust, president/CEO of Diamond.

Free tax return assistance for low- and moderate-income Hispanics is now available through a partnership between the Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals and the IRS.
The two entities have teamed up to promote the volunteer income tax assistance program, which offers free tax return preparation and tax counseling at designated sites nationwide. During tax season, all NLCUP member credit unions will provide information, education and services in Spanish to the limited-English proficiency communities regarding tax compliance, the group said.
The agreement also calls for NLCUP to assist with tax education and outreach on emerging or changing tax laws and issues through dissemination of IRS communication to NLCUP member executive staff, its offices and individual credit unions.
Officials from NLCUP and the IRS held a signing ceremony at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference last week.
