SACO, Maine — For providing its 7,000-square foot conference center free of charge to local nonprofits, PeoplesChoice Credit Union is the 2008 recipient of the Biddeford-Saco Chamber of Commerce community service award.
The $135 million CU has opened up its center to area non-profit groups needing a venue for business and fundraising efforts.
"When we built the Saco office, part of the board of director's vision was to create an education facility for the benefit of our members and our community," said Luke Labbe, president/CEO of PeoplesChoice.

Labbe added that "the board recognized a need in the community for a safe and convenient space that was affordable, and in the case of nonprofits, free, to help further each group's mission."
