PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Service Credit Union is sending a strong message that it continues to support those employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
The $1.3 billion CU has signed a "pledge of unity" certificate saying employment will not be denied because of service in the Guard or Reserve, employee job and career opportunities will not be limited or reduced because of service and employees will be granted leaves of absence for military service in the Guard or Reserve, consistent with existing laws, without sacrifice of vacation.
"We are committed to helping the men and women in the military and their families," said Gordon Simmons, president/CEO of Service CU. "We want to make sure that our employees are aware of our commitment."
The pledge of unity certificate will be displayed in each of the CU's 32 branches. Originally chartered in 1957 to serve the military and civilian employees at Pease Air Force Base, Service CU now serves more than 100,000 members worldwide.
