WASHINGTON -- The Small Business Administration said it is committed to ensuring a smooth transition from President Bush's eight-year administration to the new one under President-elect Barack Obama.
In preparation, the agency said it has a plan in place that includes an inventory of activities which need to be made over the next 30, 60 and 90 days. Among the top agenda items are an inventory of 2010 budget priorities. Briefings and training will also be held on SBA's programs such as its 7(a) and 504 loan programs.
Acting Administrator Sandy Baruah has met with outgoing political appointees to discuss their role during the transition, the agency said.
"SBA welcomes the President-elect's transition team to the agency and looks forward to working with them to serve the nation's small businesses and communities impacted by disaster," the agency said.
More than 400 credit unions participate in the agency's programs.
