ATLANTA — VSoft Corp., a provider of imaging and other process improvement solutions, has added four financial industry technology veterans, including some familiar names in credit union land, to its North American sales team.
They are new Midwest Account Manager Kevin Beals, formerly with Advanced Financial Systems and Metavante Image Solutions; Mac Crisco, formerly with Carreker/Check Solutions and Metavante, as director of sales to large financial institutions; Joy Feyt, senior sales executive in the Carolinas and other parts of the Southeastern, formerly with Fiserv, Banctec, Bell & Howell and Burroughs; and Michael Trefero, director of sales for the Western region.
Trefero was a former Fiserv president for the Western region who later started his own company, Datatronix. Trefero remained with the company when it was sold to Branch 21, which itself was sold to VSoft earlier this year.

The four new sales executives have more than 80 years of experience.
"Because of VSoft's substantial growth during the last few years, we needed industry veterans to support and further strengthen our North American sales team," said Puneet Malhotra, the company's vice president of business development.
Atlanta-based VSoft (www.vsoftcorp.com) now serves more than 1,700 financial institutions around the world, the company said, including more than half of the U.S. corporate credit union market.
Symitar Added 30 Users This Year
MONETT, Mo. — Jack Henry & Associates Inc. said it added 30 new credit unions to the Symitar client list in the fiscal year that ended June 30.
The company said 27 of the deployments replaced competitive platforms with the Symitar Episys system: 25 of those in-house and two as a service bureau. Three credit unions went with the Cruise platform for smaller credit unions; two of them in-house and one outsourced to the California-based Symitar division.
More than 700 credit unions now run on Symitar platforms, including 30% of the 127 credit unions exceeding $1 billion in assets, the company said.
"Since being acquired by Jack Henry & Associates eight years ago, we have more than doubled our Episys client base by participating in the competitive technology evaluations conducted by diverse credit unions and building our customer base one win at a time rather than through the acquisition and conversion of competitive customer bases," said Symitar President Kathy Hooker Burress.
Bluepoint Solutions Adds 74 Clients
VISTA, Calif. — Seventy-four credit unions, banks and other financial institutions signed up for Check 21, document management and multi-factor authentication solutions from Bluepoint Solutions Inc. during the second quarter of 2008, the company said.
While most of the second-quarter signees came through corporate partnerships and re-seller arrangements, three new credit union users of teller capture and receipt management software were direct sales, the company said.
They were the $92 million First Capital FCU of York, Pa., the $519 million Watermark CU of Seattle and the $2.7 billion Mountain America CU of West Jordan, Pa.
The company (www.bluepointsolutions.com) said it now has a client list of more than 900 financial institutions.
Chevron FCU Goes to LocatorSearch
OAKLAND, Calif. — The 65,000 members of Chevron Federal Credit Union can now find their nearest branch or ATM using a search engine on its Web site at www.chevronfcu.org.
The $1.2 billion CU is using the services of New York-based LocatorSearch LLC to consolidate onto the Web site searches for the credit union's branches and ATMs and well as its shared branches and CO-OP network ATMs.
The new system replaces the need to search through four different links, and being taken away from the credit union's own Web site, the company said.
"This consolidation makes it so much easier for their members and keeps them on Chevron's Web site–which is very beneficial to the credit union, as it enhances their brand awareness," said LocatorSearch's President Karl Kraus.
CUTEK Deploys Automated
Wire Transfer Product at 3 CUs
MURRIETA, Calif. — Three credit unions have recently deployed a new automated wire transfer system from CUTEK, the consultancy said.
They are the $1.6 billion Keesler FCU in Biloxi, Miss., the $159 million AOD FCU in Bynum, Ala., and the $105 million Right Choice CU in Houston.
The software fills out wire transfer details electronically and then forwards it to the credit union manager and then accounting through integration with the Symitar Episys core processing system.
Funds are then securely transferred and the other necessary transactions are automatically processed, eliminating the need to manually enter general ledger transactions and perform Office of Foreign Assets Control checks.
"The operation is nice and user friendly. You just fill out the form and submit to the host and basically the rest is electronic," said Michelle Rimes, programming manager at Keesler FCU.
Murrieta-based CUTEK (www.cutek.net) provides software add-ons and consulting services to credit unions running on Episys.
Cypress Names New VP
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Cypress Software Systems has named a new vice president of quality assurance.
Scott Tomlinson will be responsible for developing and managing quality assurance programs for the Mark IV, BizMark and AppMark loan automation products the company offers to credit unions, banks and other financial service providers.
Tomlinson has more than 25 years of management experience in the financial services industry, the company said, including serving as senior vice president at Texas State Bank in Houston, where he headed the introduction of the Cypress Mark IV system.
He most recently had been chief operations officer for Quality Infusion Care Inc. in Houston.
"Scott's extensive banking background and familiarity with our products will be indispensable as we introduce new clients to our software solutions and as we familiarize existing clients with product updates," said Stephen Sargent, president/CEO at Cypress (www.go-cypress.com).
