America First Credit Union, Riverton, Utah, held a grand opening for its Riverton Wal-Mart branch. The branch is America First's 78th branch. Don Bartlett has been named the manager of the branch. Bartlett started at the credit union in 1996 as a teller at the Cottonwood branch and has since then served as back-up lead teller, lead teller, assistant manager and most recently as manager of the Orem Wal-Mart branch. The branch held a daily drawing for a $100 Visa gift card and a grand prize drawing for a barbeque grill.
IU Credit Union, Indianapolis, held an open house for its new Indianapolis branch. The branch features a drive-up ATM and two drive-thru lanes. The ribbon cutting was attended by credit union staff, volunteers, members of the Indianapolis and Greenwood area Chambers of Commerce, Colliers Turley Martin Tucker and Keyston Construction Corp.
Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union, Clinton Township, Mich., held a grand opening celebration of its seventh office location. The new branch is located in Sterling Heights and features four drive-thru lanes, which include a 24-hour drive-up ATM. The inside of the branch has a save-a-lot squad kids club area, plasma screen displays, Internet kiosk and a coffee bar.
Community Drive Credit Union, Ypsilanti, Mich., held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the credit union. Community Drive has branches in Ypsilanti, Utica and Romeo. The celebration featured children's activities, food and refreshments, prize giveaways and special promotions.
Founders Federal Credit Union, Spartanburg, S.C., opened its sixth office in the Spartanburg area. Founders now has 24 offices and three service centers in North and South Carolina. The addition of the new offices allows Founders to better serve its members in Spartanburg and the surrounding areas.

UNCLE Credit Union, Livermore, Calif., opened a new full-service branch in Manteca. The new branch serves over 64,000 residents of Manteca and surrounding communities. UNCLE held a ribbon cutting ceremony and served refreshments throughout the day. UNCLE has branches in Pleasanton, Livermore, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Tracy and Manteca.
Sound Credit Union, Tacoma, Wash., has broken ground and will begin building its newest branch in Federal Way. This is Sound's 11th branch and will be full-service including drive-thru banking, drive-up ATM, safe deposit boxes and Saturday hours. The branch is scheduled to open by the end of 2008.
Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., celebrated the move of its Salem branch to a new location at 158 North Broadway. Service President/CEO Gordon Simmons gave the opening remarks. The new location was originally the home of Spicket Valley Federal Credit Union. In 1992, Spicket FCU merged into Service CU. Ita Donahus, Spicket Valley Federal Credit Union's very first member, was a guest at the opening celebration. New Hampshire Banking Commissioner Peter Hildreth, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman Jamie Santo, Salem Chief of Police Paul Donovan and Service CU Board of Directors Vice Chairman Patrick Harrigan also attended the celebration.
USA Credit Union, Auburn Hills, Mich., partnered with LEVEL5, a consulting and facilities development firm specializing in financial institutions, to develop and execute a growth plan. USA celebrated the grand opening of its newest Michigan branch in Rochester Hills. USA worked with LEVEL5 to select the storefront location, one branch in its spoke-and-hub model. USA is also beginning construction on a freestanding hub branch with LEVEL5 as part of the implementation of the firm's recommended strategic retail delivery plan.
Afena Federal Credit Union, Marion, Ind., celebrated the opening of its new member service branch in Marion's University Marketplace with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Existing and new members that attended the ceremony qualified to be entered into a grand prize drawing for a home theatre system. The even also featured food and beverages, live broadcast by WXXC-FM 106.9, prize giveaways every 10 minutes, special appearances by Afena's kids club mascot Lucky Buck, games and fun activities for kids, performances by Illusionist Rusty Ammerman and the chance for members and friends to show off their vintage cars.
