FITCHBURG, Mass. — IC Federal Credit Union has elected a new board chairman and vice chairman.
Elected to board chairman is Kenneth V. Stone Jr., who is presently employed by Rutter Networking Technologies as a senior network executive and is a former Fitchburg city councilman.
Stone is currently the chairman of the investment committee, technology liaison, member of the building and grounds committee and serves on the personnel committee. He was first elected to the board on Nov. 1, 1998.

Mary E. Scott has been elected board vice chair. Scott is currently employed as director of employment and employee relations at Brandeis University. She is currently the chairperson of the loan review committee and the chairperson of the personnel committee. She was first elected to the board on Dec. 15, 1994.
M. Marcus Moran Jr. will be stepping down as chairman but will remain a board member. He has been with the IC board since 1986 and served as chairman for 10 years. In addition, after 10 years Norman J. Thibault will be stepping down as vice chair. He has been on the IC board for 57 years and will remain a board member.
CUES Updates Board Building Cycle
MADISON, Wis. — CUES is offering a newly revised version of "The Board Building Cycle," authored by governance expert Berit Lakey of BoardSource (www.boardsource.org) free to members.
In its second edition, the manual outlines the nine critical steps of board growth, including how to identify, cultivate, recruit, orient, involve, educate, evaluate, rotate and celebrate for board success.

In addition, the newest appointees to the CUES directors advisory panel include John C. Antonio, director, Xceed Financial Credit Union; Rebecca Collier, director, North Island Credit Union; Martin D. Gillis, chairman of the board, Windsor Family Credit Union; and Arthur L. Jue, vice chairman of the board, Meriwest Credit Union. They join current members Mike Kolb, director, Shell Federal Credit Union and Robert M. Peplowski, director, Detroit Edison Credit Union.
The directors advisory panel is dedicated to better serving volunteers of the credit union movement through collaborative content development. Panel members offer suggestions to help enhance and improve the board-specific offerings developed by CUES.
St. Vrain CU Names Board Chair
LONGMONT, Colo. — St. Vrain Valley Credit Union has named Nancy Herbert board chair.
Herbert has 17 years with the St. Vrain Valley School District administration and served on the Longmont City Council as well as the boards of over 20 community organizations and programs.
Colorado Group Board Member Named
DENVER — Western Rockies Federal Credit Union President/CEO Kristi Porter will serve on the board of directors for the Credit Union Association of Colorado and its wholly owned credit union service corporation Credit Union Strategic Partners.
"It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve on the board for CUAC and CUSP," said Porter. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to expand my network of credit union colleagues and become more involved with the association."
Porter has been with Western Rockies Federal Credit Union for 28 years and has watched the credit union grow and change over the years.
"We are about to complete the construction of our fourth branch, which has been a special project for our staff and board," said Porter.
Involved in the community as a member of Kiwanis, Porter has also enhanced her education in the financial services industry by attending many credit union schools. In fact, she recently completed her first year in the Southeastern Regional CUNA Management School in Georgia.
Western Rockies FCU has a staff of 49 people and serves some 13,600 members.
Lawrence Landry, Dow Louisiana FCU
Founding Board Member, Is Honored
PLAQUEMINE, La. — Dow Louisiana Federal Credit Union founding board member Lawrence J. Landry has retired from Dow Chemical Company after 35 years.
"We thank Larry for his outstanding dedication, service and contribution to Dow Louisiana Federal Credit Union," said Jeff Hendrickson, president/CEO. "Larry has been instrumental over the past 35 years in helping to take us from an idea to one of the fastest growing credit unions in the state of Louisiana."
Altogether, Landry's over 30-year history with DLFCU and the credit union industry is rich and significant. On DLFCU's board since its inception, Landry has served as chairman, as well as working on the credit and education committees for DLFCU. He was a Louisiana Corporate Credit Union board member, director of the Baton Rouge Credit Union Chapter, CUNA national director, director of the Louisiana Credit Union League and chairman of the Louisiana Credit Union League's insurance services committee. He is a past member of the World Council of Credit Unions, serving as development educator.
Landry was the first person in Louisiana to complete all 12 modules of the CUNA volunteer achievement program and has also been a Boy Scouts of America troop leader for over 35 years.
DLFCU board and staffers recently honored Landry's commitment to service, with speeches given by Chairman Mary Cavalier and other board members and video tributes featuring photo montages of Landry throughout his years at DLFCU.
Landry was presented with a commemorative trophy, while his wife, Marion, was given flowers thanking her for her support. Both were given a cruise as thanks for their years of commitment. Also unveiled was the plaque for the new Lawrence J. Landry conference room, housed at DLFCU's main headquarters in Plaquemine.
Following his retirement, Landry looks forward to continued participation with DLFCU as a board member emeritus.
