EMERYVILLE, Calif. — More than 40 users of the UltraData Enterprise core processing system have signed with EVault for online backup services in the past year, the company said.

EVault, part of Seagate Technologies, formed a partnership with UltraData owner Harland Financial Services in June 2007.

The EVault InfoStage disk-to-data protection software eliminates tape and is used to back up the credit unions' business-critical data at HFS's Enterprise Services Center, providing disaster recovery security and maintaining regulatory compliance, the companies said.

EVault said its data protection technology now is used by more than 20,000 customers worldwide, including hundreds of credit unions in North America.
