TotaleAtlas 4.3 is currently in beta testing at customer sites and is expected to be in general release during the third quarter this year, the company said.

DCU to Deploy Guardian Analytics Solution

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- Digital Federal Credit Union (www.dcu.org) will use the FraudMAP solution from Guardian Analytics as part of its online fraud prevention strategy.

FraudMAP will be used to provide detailed fraud alerts to the $4.1 billion credit union's internal security team and help improve the ability to prevent multi-channel schemes against DCU's 350,000 members, the company and credit union said.

"Guardian Analytics' FraudMAP is a best-in-class solution that fits right into our existing processes and Digital Insight online banking infrastructure. FraudMAP is also transparent to our members and will not impact their online experience," said Craig Roy, vice president of support services at DCU.

In addition to lessening false alerts, California-based Guardian Analytics said, the FraudMAP solution uses predictive modeling techniques to help detect multi-channel fraud schemes in which the fraudster uses a compromised online account to gather information that enables a fraudulent transaction via a different channel, such as check fraud.

Networking Community By CUNA Council

MADISON, Wis. -- The CUNA Councils have established a social networking community similar to Facebook and LinkedIn, connecting more than 4,600 credit union professionals with sources for information, advice and solutions, the organization said.

CUNA Councils Connect is like a "list serve, bulletin board, membership directory, guide to consultants and vendor reference all rolled up and turborcharged," said Joe Brancucci, chair of the CUNA Council Forum and executive vice president at BECU.

The service is available for no additional cost to CUNA Council members and is one of the few like it among large associations in the country, according to CUNA.

Features include:

  • A directory with extensive member profile information including contact information, asset size, number of branches and employees, more than 130 areas of expertise and 32 broad categories of industry suppliers.
  • A people map, which allows members to find others visually.
  • Online discussion forums, where members can form groups around a specific issue or topic.
  • Real-time chat functionality between members.
  • Blogs -- members can start their own and participate in existing ones.

The CUNA Councils (www.cunacouncils.org) are the CUNA CFO Council, CUNA HR/TD Council, CUNA Lending Council, CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council, CUNA Operations, Sales, and Service Council and the CUNA Technology Council.

"CUNA Councils Connect allows me to reach out and identify peers with very specific characteristics--such as members in California of a certain asset range who have experience in product development and evaluation. Or say members from credit unions that use the same core processor, and have the same credit card vendor, use the same MCIF system and are community charter," said Anne Legg, chair of the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council and vice president of marketing for Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego.

"It's extremely powerful and it's a huge time saver. We can have an online dialogue and compare notes," Legg said.

CFE, Eastman CUs Add MShift Mobile Banking

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Two more credit unions have signed with MShift Inc. for mobile banking technology.

CFE FCU ($1.2 billion in assets) of Lake Mary, Fla., and $2 billion Eastman CU in Kingsport, Tenn., are offering the mobile banking services free to their online banking members.

CFE said it's the first credit union in central Florida to offer mobile banking and that it expects 4% of its online banking members to sign up for the service within the next six months.

Nearly 2,000 members had requested information by e-mail about the new service--mobile.mycfe.com--and several hundred site visits were logged within a few hours of its launch, the credit union said.

Eastman, meanwhile, has named its service ECU on the Go and made it available at mobile.ecu.org.

"ECU on the Go utilizes the highest levels of security to safeguard our members and enables them to monitor their account activity from their wireless device. This new service, literally, puts the credit union in the palm of our members' hands," said Olan Jones Jr., ECU's president/CEO.

MShift's mobile platform works with any device and carrier and the company now serves more than 100 credit unions and banks.
