LAKE CITY, Ga. — The Associated Press is reporting that a home built for ABC's reality television show, Extreme Makeover, is the latest high-profile foreclosure property. The home, which was used as collateral on a $450,000 failed business loan, will go to auction on the steps of the Clayton County Courthouse August 5.

The four-bedroom mini-mansion includes a lobby that featured four fireplaces, a solarium, a music room and a plush new office. Employees and corporate partners of Atlanta-based Beazer Homes USA, which worked with Extreme Makeover on the January 2005 project, donated $250,000 in additional funds for the Harper family, including scholarships for the couple's three children and a home maintenance fund.

Some of the volunteers who helped build the home voiced strong opinions about the loss.

“It's aggravating. It just makes you mad. You do that much work, and they just squander it,” said Lake City Mayor Willie Oswalt, who helped vault a massive beam into place in the living room.
