AmeriCU Credit Union, Rome, N.Y., recognized several employees in the second quarter for their achievements, outstanding service and retirement. Member Relations Advisor Brandi Jefferson was presented with the AmeriCU spotlight on success employee recognition award this month. Jefferson was selected by a committee of employees. Jefferson received a special presentation in the monthly staff meeting, a framed certificate of recognition, a $100 American Express gift card, a desk trophy and will sit on the committee to vote for the next quarterly award selection. Manager of Asset Quality Nancy Smith announced her retirement after 35 years of service. Chief Audit Executive Mark Livesey was designated as certified internal auditor. Tom Birdsall, member financial adviser, AmeriCU Services, LLC and AmeriCU Capital Management was recently qualified to become an investment adviser by passing the Uniform Adviser Law Examination.
First Financial Federal Credit Union, Wall, N.J., announced that Deborah Donato celebrated 40 years of employment at the credit union. Donato is the CUDL Business Development Officer. Throughout her 40 years of employment Donato has held positions from student loan officers to assistant branch manager to training and business development manager. Donato holds certifications in training for BDST and CUNA sales strategies. She is also a certified trainer in Schneider sales and management program.

Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Groton, Conn., announced the promotion of Patricia Lima to senior vice president of human resources. Lima started at Charter Oak in July of 1965 and has served in various capacities over the years. Lima currently oversees all human resources functions. She is also a graduate of CUNA human resources management school.

CFE Federal Credit Union, Lake Mary, Fla., announced the promotion of Mitchell B. Olinsky to manager of e-commerce. Olinsky will assume responsibility for e-commerce, MCIF database, Web and intranet management activities. Olinsky started at CFE in April 2004 and was selected as employee of the year in 2006. He was previously IT product specialist.
BayPort Credit Union, Newport News, Va., announced the hiring of Denise Owen as business relationship manager. Owen will assist members with their business loans and services while creating awareness in the local community about new services. Owen comes to BayPort as a 20-year banking veteran and served as a business development officer for a commercial bank with the last five years dealing exclusively with business owners.

United Federal Credit Union, Saint Joseph, Mich., announced that Debra L. Griggs was appointed to the position of vice president, member relations. Griggs will assume administrative responsibility for all service and sales functions at 16 United branches in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Arkansas and North Dakota. She will also serve as a member of the strategic leadership team at United.
Wanigas Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., announced that Erika Brown has been promoted to branch services manager of the Bagley location. Brown started her career at Wanigas 13 years ago. Carol Rupp is the new branch manager of the Shattuck branch location. Carol started her career at Wanigas 35 years ago and has worked in the accounting, card services, data, loan and member service departments. Julie Lehner has been promoted to member service operations/ accounting manager. Lehner started at Wanigas 10 years ago.
Consumers Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., announced that Becky Gearhart was hired as office manager for its West Main location. Gearhart has 15 years of credit union experience, including six years in management. Duane Hoxie was also hired as mortgage adviser. Hoxie has 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, included five years as a loan broker for Clark Financial Group.
Central Star Credit Union, Wichita, Kan., announced the hiring of Katrina Nesler as marketing specialist. Nesler will direct Central Star's marketing plan to increase community awareness of their products and services and expand membership. Nesler has over five years of marketing and communication experience.
