WASHINGTON — U.S. Reps. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) and Tim Walz (D-Minn.) both visited credit unions during the recent congressional recess to discuss regulatory relief and other issues important to credit unions.
Franks spoke to and met with executives at Arizona Federal Credit Union's Bell Road Branch in Glendale. His visit was co-sponsored by Arizona Federal and the Arizona Credit Union League.
Walz met with 15 credit union employees and volunteers at the First Alliance Credit Union in Rochester. The meeting was part of the Minnesota Credit Union Network's efforts to maintain regular contact with lawmakers.

Both Franks and Walz also discussed the current state of the economy and high gasoline prices.
Franks represents the 2nd District of Arizona, which includes the western suburbs of Phoenix. Walz represents the 1st District of Minnesota, in the Southeast corner of the state.
