AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union, Mechanicsburg, Pa., announced the promotion of Karl Larson to vice president of operations. Larson has more than 18 years' experience in the financial services industry. His previous experience includes serving as residential mortgage officer, head of consumer loans, director of training, regional branch manager and branch manager. Larson will be responsible for the operations of five AmeriChoice offices as well as two college and high school branches. He will also direct the e-services department, operations administration and compliance.

Affinity Federal Credit Union, Basking Ridge, N.J., announced the hiring of Mariann Jeffers as assistant vice president, member experience. Jeffers comes to Affinity from Synergy Bank were she worked for 20 years and most recently served as a retail administrator and first vice president.

SOUTH

CFE Federal Credit Union, Lake Mary, Fla., announced that Kevin Miller received his certified chief executive designation from the Credit Union Executive Society CEO Institute. Miller is the senior vice president/general counsel. Miller attended the CUES program for one week a year for three years at top-rated business schools. Also, Laura Richard, marketing manager, has received the distinguished management award for first-quarter 2008. Richard started at CFE in July 2007 and was recognized with a plaque.

Credit Union of Georgia, Woodstock, Ga., announced the appointment of Harold T. Barnett to the supervisory committee. Barnett has worked in various different positions in the educational field and was superintendent of Cartersville City Schools from 1990 to 1999 and superintendent of Marietta City Schools from 1999 to 2005. Barnett is currently an adjunct professor in the department of educational leadership at Kennesaw State University.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the promotion of Angie Ybarra to manager of its Uvalde Service Center. Ybarra has been at Security Service for 13 years. Ybarra most recently served as assistant manager of the Uvalde location.

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, Houston, announced the promotion of Spring Parker to branch manager of the Jones Road branch. Parker has been with the credit union for eleven years and has held several positions including financial service representative and call center manager. Michelene Brown will join Parker in the management of the branch. Brown has been with Cy-Fair since March 2008.

Virginia Credit Union, Richmond, Va., announced the hiring of Glenn Birch as director of public and media relations. Birch joins Virginia CU after 10 years as director of communications for Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education. Birch will raise awareness of Virginia Credit Union through contact with members of the news media, lawmakers and the public.

SRP Federal Credit Union, North Augusta, S.C., announced that President Ed Templeton has been elected secretary for the National Association of Federal Credit Unions for the 2008-2009 term. Templeton will take his position following NAFCU's annual business meeting and conference. Templeton has served as president of SRP for the past 20 years.

WEST

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, announced the appointment of Becky Okelberry as manager of the Taylorsville branch. Okelberry has worked in financial services for seven years. Okelberry transferred from the Kearns branch where she has been manager for the past three years. Also, Todd Madsen has been appointed to manager of the American Fork branch. Madsen has worked in the financial services for four years.

Unitus Community Credit Union, Portland, Ore., announced the hiring of Brandon Rossman as branch manager for the new Mill Plain Crossing branch. Rossmann has more than nine years of financial services experience and was most recently a real estate broker with Re/Max Equity Group in Vancouver, Wash.

Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., announced the hiring of Amy Wilson as an addition to the business banking team. Wilson has been in the financial services industry since 1998 and most recently served as a branch manager and assistant vice present for Bank of the West in South Denver. Wilson will be serving Ent's northern Colorado Springs region focusing on Woodmen, Centennial and Jackson Creek service centers.

Idaho Credit Union League, Boise, Idaho, announced the winner of this year's outstanding volunteer of the year award is Jim Simpson of Magic Valley Federal Credit Union in Twin Falls. The award was presented at the league's 72nd annual meeting. Simpson's current position on the credit union board is chairman and he has held a number of leadership roles through his years of service. In addition to receive a plaque and a diamond lapel pin from the league a donation of $250 was made to the National Credit Union Foundation in his name.

TNB Card Services, Dallas, announced that Frank Sommers has been appointed to vice president, regional sales executive in charge of identifying and establishing new credit union relationships. Sommers has nearly 15 years' experience in the financial services industry. He was most recently with Winthrop Resources, where he held several positions within sales that included vice president of sales.
