FLINT, Mich. — Dort Federal Credit Union has launched IndiGO, a high yield, self-service online savings and checking account.
The $350 million credit union said the remote account rewards self-service members with substantial dividends without any monthly service fees, or transaction requirements.
"Dort Federal wanted to bring an online-only account to the market to meet the needs of the growing number of online banking users," said Martin Smith, Dort Federal's president/CEO. Companies like ING have experienced enormous growth each year because more and more people are interested in earning higher returns and managing their own accounts when it's convenient for them.

Smith said while developing IndiGO, Dort Federal's development team was adamant that about keeping the account simple, functional and easy to understand.
"We aren't interested in providing a service like some of the bait and switch offers out there," he said. "Our higher dividend rates are exactly what we advertise. No minimum requirements on funding or monthly transactions, and no monthly service fees. No strings attached."
Dort Federal serves nearly 50,000 members.
