RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The California and Nevada Youth Involvement Network announced today that it has selected Jeff Williams, Member Education Director at $1.7 billion Educational Employees Credit Union, to receive its annual award.

In addition to the recognition, Williams also won a trip to this summer's National Youth Involvement Board's annual conference in Las Vegas.

Williams was selected for his financial literacy efforts for young members of the Fresno, Calif.-based credit union, including 111 classroom presentations to 5,644 students from July 2007 to May 2008, as well as four breakout sessions for students representing 10 local high schools at a Fresno Chamber of Commerce Business and Education Career Fair.

In addition, Williams is involved with the Fresno Chamber of Commerce Business and Education Committee, the San Joaquin Valley Financial Literacy Initiative, and the Bank on Fresno program designed to help unbanked residents open checking accounts at local financial institutions.

"Attending the NYIB annual conference will help me learn more about the youth market and best practice strategies that can be used to target this audience. I'll also have an opportunity to share some of my success stories with other educators throughout the country in order to maintain the credit union philosophy of 'People Helping People'," Williams said.
