Affinity Federal Credit Union, Basking Ridge, N.J., announced the hiring of MaryAnne Melanson as assistant vice president, executive services. Melanson joins Affinity after working at AnySystem Group Holdings, Inc. for ten years as vice president.

SOUTH

GTE Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced the promotion of Brad Baker to senior vice president of member service operations. Baker started at GTE in 1991 as director of accounting and later served as vice president of finance. Most recently, Baker was vice president of member services for seven years. As vice president of member services Baker oversaw a department of 100 employees, GTE's savings, checking, electronic account access, debit/credit card and ATM operations as well as three call centers, general member service, lending and mortgages.

MIDWEST

TopLine Federal Credit Union, Maple Grove, Minn., announced the hiring of Thomas E. Smith as vice president of lending and chief loan officer. Smith comes to TopLine after working for 10 years at Marquette Consumer Finance most recently as vice president, credit and compliance. At TopLine, Smith will oversee consumer and business lending functions.

Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced that Ruth Gaon attended and completed the Credit Union Executives Society's CEO Institute III. The CEO Institute III was the final weeklong segment of a three-tiered program. The program is and advanced executive education experience designed specifically for credit union senior executives aspiring to advance their careers and their credit unions. Gaon completed the first session in April of 2006 and the second session in May 2007. She is now a certified chief executive.

United Federal Credit Union, St. Joseph, Mich., announced that Bob Johnson and John Steinke have been inducted into the 2008 Who's Who in America's Credit Unions. Johnson served as chairman of United's board of directors from 1986-2006 and served as vice chairman for the past year. Steinke is the current chairman of the board and has served on the board of directors in several positions since 1969.

WEST

CO-OP Financial Services, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., announced that is has added the positions of vice president, customer care and vice president, business development and strategic planning. Annette Bowlick will serve as the new vice president, customer care. Bowlick has been at CO-OP for 11 years and was most recently vice president business development. Caroline Lane was serve as the new vice president, business development & strategic planning. Lane started at CO-OP in 2006 as vice president of corporate development.

Woodstone Credit Union, Federal Way, Wash., announced that its Human Resource Manager Jane Parker has been appointed to the human resource steering committee of the Northwest Financial Association of Trust. The committee meets quarterly to provide insight and feedback to the organization regarding value, service, administrative ease of use and suggestions on new product offerings. Parker will serve as one-year term on the committee.

First New York Federal Credit Union, Schenectady, N.Y., announced the promotion of Vincent LaChance to assistant branch manager of the Colonie branch. LaChance started at First New York in December 2002 as an accounting clerk. His most recent position was management trainee.

St. Anne's Credit Union, Fall River, Mass., announced Ross R. Upton as the new president/CEO. Upton succeeds John R. Ledwidge who announced his retirement at St. Anne's annual meeting on March 30. Ledwidge served as president/CEO for 11 years and will continue to serve on the board of directors. Upton joined St. Anne's in 1993 as chief financial officer.
