St. Anne's Credit Union, Fall River, Mass., announced Ross R. Upton as the new president/CEO. Upton succeeds John R. Ledwidge who announced his retirement at St. Anne's annual meeting on March 30. Ledwidge served as president/CEO for 11 years and will continue to serve on the board of directors. Upton joined St. Anne's in 1993 as chief financial officer.

TopLine Federal Credit Union, Maple Grove, Minn., announced the hiring of Thomas E. Smith as vice president of lending and chief loan officer. Smith comes to TopLine after working for 10 years at Marquette Consumer Finance most recently as vice president, credit and compliance. At TopLine, Smith will oversee consumer and business lending functions.
Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced that Ruth Gaon attended and completed the Credit Union Executives Society's CEO Institute III. The CEO Institute III was the final weeklong segment of a three-tiered program. The program is and advanced executive education experience designed specifically for credit union senior executives aspiring to advance their careers and their credit unions. Gaon completed the first session in April of 2006 and the second session in May 2007. She is now a certified chief executive.
United Federal Credit Union, St. Joseph, Mich., announced that Bob Johnson and John Steinke have been inducted into the 2008 Who's Who in America's Credit Unions. Johnson served as chairman of United's board of directors from 1986-2006 and served as vice chairman for the past year. Steinke is the current chairman of the board and has served on the board of directors in several positions since 1969.
