NEW YORK — The former chair of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions has been honored by a think tank that has taken on a leading role in the effort to promote thrift.

The Institute for American Values honored former Federation Chair Rita L. Haynes, CEO of the Faith Community United Credit Union, Cleveland, with its New Thrift award at a recent thrift conference.

In accepting the award, Haynes remarked, "If all us work together and attack the enemy, which is greed, we can together do all things." Federation board member and Mississippi State Sen. Robert L. Jackson was a panelist at the conference, as well.
