DEER PARK, Texas — Shell Federal Credit Union launched its mobile banking service on April 1.
The $284 million CU is offering its more than 40,000 members the ability to check balances, pay bills and transfer funds through mobile phones and other handheld devices, regardless of carrier.
Shell FCU is using the services of MShift Inc. of San Jose, Calif., a provider of wireless banking technology to more than 75 credit unions and banks, to power wireless.shellfcu.org.

The credit union is promoting it with in-branch posters, banners on the main Web site at www.shellfcu.org and a drawing for an iPhone that ends in June.
