LIVONIA, Mich. — Six students from the greater Detroit area have received scholarships from an area credit union. This is the 14th year that the $291 million Co-op Services Credit Union has made scholarships available to area high school seniors.

"Over the years, our scholarship program has provided students with resources to succeed. These students have all maintained demanding extra curricular schedules while achieving academic excellence," said Lisa Fawcett, marketing director of Co-op Services Credit Union. "These scholarships really support the credit union philosophy of 'people helping people'."

The students and their families were given special recognition at the credit union's annual meeting in March.
