GREENSBORO, N.C. — The BizKid$–and the credit union brand–are about to make a big splash on public television in the Carolinas and Virginia next month as a result of contracts signed this week with major Public Broadcasting System outlets in Raleigh with coverage now extending into Charlotte and Myrtle Beach, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation reported Friday.
“We're really excited about finalizing deals we've made to underwrite the BizKid$ ads on behalf of credit unions in North and South Carolina,” said John Slack, president/CEO of the foundation which serves the North and South Carolina Credit Union Leagues.
The syndicated BizKid$ shows funded by the National Credit Union Foundation and a broad industry coalition led by the Washington Credit Union League have been appearing across the U.S. on PBS stations since January but the Carolina project is “unique,” said Slack in light of management decision to pay for the tagline commercials at the end of the show on participating stations.
Those stations, as signed up this week include, UNC TV, in Raleigh with a link to the University of North Carolina, and WTVI with penetration reaching South Carolina and western Virginia.
The BizKid$ tagline reads, “BizKids is sponsored in part by the credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina through a grant provided by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Because credit unions care about our kids and our communities learn more about credit unions by checking the website www.carolinasfoundation.org.”
