SANDY, Utah — Computer Marketing Corp. is marking its 30th anniversary in the credit union core processing business this year.
The company was formed in February 1978 by Fred Holcomb, who partnered with a Salt Lake City-area credit union to build an in-house processing solution on an IBM midrange system.
The system was named FLEX and now has been re-engineered on the JAVA platform and is in use at more than 260 credit unions across the country, CMC said.
CMC (www.cmcflex.com) also is the largest and oldest core processor in the credit union industry that has not changed ownership since its inception, the company said.
